Lately I’ve been meditating on the promise of James 1:12–
“Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love Him.”
That is my greatest responsibility right now–remain steadfast. And it comes with a great reward.
But I was reading some of my favorite verses in Colossians and saw it again. Colossians 1:21-23–
“And you, who once were alienated and hostile in mind, doing evil deeds, He has now reconciled in His body of flesh by His death, in order to present you holy and blameless and above reproach before Him,”
I always thought there was a period here, but there isn’t!
“if indeed you continue in the faith, stable and steadfast, not shifting from the hope of the gospel that you heard, which has been proclaimed in all creation under heaven, and of which I, Paul, became a minister.”
In the faith.
Clinging to the hope of the Gospel.
This is our command and call.
Come what may we can be steadfast because we have a steadfast God.
